Street View Page on Thailand

Google Street View is available through Google Maps and Google Earth and provides panoramic views along many streets in the world. It was started in 2007 in the United States and has since expanded to include a large number of countries. Some countries have objected to this form of data gathering and have not allowed Google to take the imagery, Germany being the main hold-out. Available Street View imagery available is shown as blue lines on Google Maps once the so-called pegman has been activated. Images are most often taken by car but a variety of other modes of transport have been used. Once captured, the images are subsequently stitched together. In some areas, Street View images are augmented by privately-done photospheres.

Nong Nooch Botanical Garden in Na Chom Thian

Nong Nooch Botanical Garden is only one part of Nong Nooch (there is also a Dinosaur Valley and Butterfly Hill). It is a major tourist attraction in Na Chom Thian, and also brings in many locals. Throughout the botanical garden there are hundreds of statues of different animals, including white tigers and monkeys.

Democracy Monument in Bangkok

The Democracy Monument is in the very heart of Bangkok, and occupies a traffic circle. It was commissioned in 1939 to commemorate the 1932 Siamese Revolution. There are four talls wings facing the base of the structure (that are 24 meters because the 1932 coup took place on the 24th of June), along with fountains on the outisde of the wings.

Doi Phu Kha National Park in Nan

Doi Phu Kha National Park is Nothern Thiland's largest national park, and is named after the Doi Phu Kha mountain that is within the park. Despite having National Park status parts of the park have actually been deforested, and many people have speculated that it's due to state official's greed and the expansion of modern civilization.

4 Moore's Where to Invade Next

I felt White's review had very little validity. It seems his only valid point is at the very beginning when, in many less words, he points out that Moore's comment on the military is harsh. I believe many memebers of the military do deserve some respect for the work they do or have done, and while I think Moore was harsh it wasn't without reason. However, that's the only valid point in this whole article, the rest of it was blind anger with very little thought, or reason for his opposition. He simply states (many different times in too many words) that Moore wants to make himself look better and smarter than others. Putting politics aside in this movie we can see how traveling can help us understand our own country and culture. The United States, and Americans, have roots and familial connections to many of these countries, and it's interesting to see how certain things from those countries have stuck in America, and other's have not. By looking at these other countries and their cultures and beliefs we can look at our own culture and understand "oh, that's where that comes from" or "oh, that's different from us, I wonder why". Throughout this film we can look at our own country and how we live and understand where certain thoughts have come from, even those thoughts that differ from our roots.
